Announcing New AdminUI licensing

Historically, AdminUI shipped with a perpetual license with ongoing support and updates costing 25% of the product price annually.

Today, we announce that the license model has changed to a yearly license.

Why are we changing the licensing model of AdminUI?

The IdentityServer4 open-source team have migrated to the now commercial Duende IdentityServer. To use Duende IdentityServer in production, you will need to purchase their annual license. Some caveats, such as total revenue under $1 million USD or being a charity, enable the license's usage at free/minimal cost.

Our lifetime license model does therefore not align with the commercial model, and we felt that this needed to change, to better reflect how organizations are paying for the software that makes up their SSO solution.

New AdminUI Licensing

To align AdminUI and Duende IdentityServer licensing, newly purchased copies of AdminUI come with a lower cost annual license. This has the advantage of making AdminUI more accessible to organisations using Duende IdentityServer.

To help provide clarity when managing two licenses; one for Duende IdentityServer and AdminUI, we have streamlined the types of licenses available to purchase and have removed our SME license.

We now offer the following editions of AdminUI. Our Starter license is perfect for customers who may have opted for the free Duende license. Whereas our Enterprise license enables flexibility as your single-sign solution grows throughout its lifetime.

AdminUI Starter 

AdminUI Starter (our free license) will remain a free yearly license with the same license restrictions:

• 100 users and five client applications
• Supports one environment
• Free support via Zendesk.

​AdminUI Enterprise

AdminUI Enterprise Annual @ £1935 / $2,660 per year.

• Manage unlimited users and client applications
• Supports one production and three non-production environments
• One-to-one developer support via Zendesk.

AdminUI Redistribution

AdminUI Redistribution @ POA, either Annual or Perpetual.

• Manage unlimited users and client applications
• Redistributable license packaged as part of your solution, delivered to your customers
• Escalated one to one developer support via Zendesk.
